Mini Bee Free Crochet Pattern
Materials
- Size 7mm crochet hook
- Weight 6 bulky yarn in 3 colours
- Regular black yarn for mouth
- 12mm safety eyes
- Stuffing material
- Stitch marker
- Needle for closing
- Scissors
Abbreviations
- MR (magic ring or magic circle)
- SC (single crochet)
- INC (increase)
- DEC (decrease)
- SLST (slip stitch)
- DC (double crochet)
Body
- Round 1: 7SC into MR (7) (main colour)
- Round 2: 7INC (14) (main colour)
- Round 3: 14SC (14) (main colour)
- Round 4: 14SC (14) (second colour)
- Round 5: 14SC (14) (main colour)
- Attach eyes between rounds 1-2
- Round 6: 14SC (14) (second colour)
- Round 7: 14SC (14) (main colour)
- Round 8: 7DEC (7) (main colour)
- Stuff the body
- Round 9: 2DEC (5) (main colour)
- Use the needle to thread through the remaining stitches and pull tight to close. Thread yarn through the middle and out of the side of the bee to finish off.
Wings
- Hold the bee with the eyes facing left, SLST into the yellow stripe in the middle of the bee body at the top where you want the wing to be.
- 2DC and another SLST into the same stitch, chain 1.
- Turn and work 5 DC across the top of the wing.
- Finish with a SLST into the starting yellow stitch.
- Cut off leaving a small tail, use your needle to pull both ends of the wing yarn through the body and pull tight.
- Do the same on the opposite side for the second wing.
Use your regular black yarn to sew on mouth detail between the eyes.
